StoryLine:

A delirious housewife is taken hostage by a terrorist with a death penalty, a husband is accused of cheating, and a police officer, who is supposed to catch the criminal, but shows no interest – this plot looks great on paper. However, it failed miserably at the execution level in Kookie Gulati’s latest suspense thriller Dhokha: Round D Corner. The actors manage to ratchet up the tension in this suspense-filled plot. Starring R Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumar, and Khushalii Kumar, Dhokha revolves around a housewife Sanchi Sinha (Khushalii) taken hostage by a terrorist named Haq Gul (Aparshakti) in her own home while her husband Yatharth (Madhavan) and a team of police officers help rescue her. While the woman suffers from a delusional personality disorder, her husband is accused of cheating on her. Both give different versions of reality. The truth is only revealed in the climax. There’s also some sensual drama thrown in Dhokha to make it spicy.

Among many flaws that the film has, the greatest problem is its lack of logic. A terrorist on a death sentence falls in love with his hostage in a matter of hours, a police officer who has zero knowledge about controlling such a situation is put in charge, the snipers who stand there with guns but fire not a single bullet even when they get multiple chances – the list is endless. It gets irritating at a point to see Madhavan and Darshan continuously chit chatting and smoking, as if a wanted criminalis not on the loose. We expected action and drama, but we get a daily-soap approach.Dhokha quickly becomes monotonous and repetitive with predictable twists. However, it picks up pace in the second half. The big plot twist is noteworthy, but may appeal only to viewers unfamiliar with the genre.
