Though it comes with a disclaimer at the end that black magic is an abomination to Islam, and not to be practiced ever, Siccin gives the strong impression that, for whatever reason, it permeates modern, even secular Muslim life. The strength of the whole movie centers around Aznur’s coldblooded hatred, and her evil will to take it out on Kudret by, no problem, casting a spell on them, to kill his wife and daughter. The way she gets on the bus, takes it, finds the magician, then listens carefully to fulfill all his demands, is truly chilling. The black magic is also deeply, and logically, detailed here, so that you are horrified by what must be done, and is believed in, to cast magic.
