Mallika Sherawat has joined the bandwagon of celebs transitioning to OTT and her latest offering is investigative thriller, ‘Nakaab’. The MX Player series features Sherawat as an inspiring single woman at the apex of the media industry. In an exclusive interaction with ETimes, Mallika opened up about playing Zohra Mehra in ‘Nakaab’, her co-stars and much more. Excerpts:Soumik Sen approached me with the script, he said ‘it’s an investigative thriller and you must do this series because it is very relevant to what’s happening in society’. There is a lot of speculation. If you see around us what’s happening, there was a death this year and last year. It makes the series even more relevant because of the kind of pressure people are feeling in the entertainment industry and the role that social media is playing too.Zohra Mehra is a TV and film producer in the entertainment industry. She is an absolutely ruthless and ambitious woman. She is not concerned with the judgements of the society but only wants to build her empire. For her, it’s the survival of the fittest, either kill or get killed. She uses people and she has no morals. Zohra just has one vision, where she wants to be the most powerful woman in the entertainment industry and she will do anything to achieve that.I think everyone wears some kind of a ‘Nakaab’ and I am no different. When I am talking to my mother, I wear the biggest Naqaab. Everybody wears a Nakaab, you portray different personalities when you talk to your family and when you talk to your boyfriend. I think everybody wears a Nakaab and everybody has their secrets.
