The storyline is simple and easy to connect with. After all, how many men don’t regret losing their mane and going glossy at the top? But while it’s usually a gradual process for most, Alokesh (Ritwick) doesn’t enjoy that luxury. He sees a TV commercial about how ‘Byomkesh’ oil (I like the kesh pun here) boosts hair growth, runs to a pharmacy to buy it and doesn’t hesitate to apply it handsomely on his hara-bhara scalp. By Day 4, he loses half his hair and becomes teko. The rest is history. His Mina, (Srabanti), who is a hardcore hair lover, calls off their wedding and he sues the Byomkesh oil manufacturers and loses the case. That’s when he gets into revenge mode. In doing so, Ritwick, the teko, delivers a message on a subject that plagues markets across the world — overhyped ads of products that more often than not do more damage than good.Coming to performances, Ritwick, of course, rules the screen with his emotional outbursts. He fits the character like a glove. Srabanti, too, is really good and so is Manasi. Though it’s a comedy, a genre that often entails an overdose of overacting, all the characters remain within the bounds of logic.
