Laura Price (Saskie Hampele) is a highly successful corporate lawyer, waiting for her next promotion to become a partner in the law firm she works for. Laura is engaged to Owen, (Craig Horner), an equally successful lawyer, who seems to have little time for her. One day Laura is approached by Graham Finlay (Martin Portus), an old family friend who owns a million-dollar business, who asks her to convince his grandson, Chip (Liam McIntyre), to take over his business. Laura sees securing this business as the opportunity to make her a partner. She therefore agrees to travel back to her hometown of Sapphire Cove, a beautiful tropical paradise.
Chip, however, is determined not to follow in his Grandfather’s footsteps, preferring to live a carefree life, fishing, sailing his boat, hiking and horse-riding. He is very happy to see Laura, his childhood best friend, but finds her to be a different person to the one who left a long time ago. Laura finds herself reconnecting with her past and discovering what she is missing in her high-pressured world. Together they discover mutual values and ambitions which they hope will make the world a better place.
