Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, this five-part series revolves around college students and their romantic lives. The writers—Sidhant Mago, Aakash Ahuja and Manan Madaan—have ensured that one relives all the mindless and fun things that one has done in college. It perfectly portrays the friendships and the heartbreaks, the hangout spots to roam around carelessly with your pals, in short, doing everything together apart from studying. In terms of plot, dialogues and the emotional connection with the characters, this season is better than the previous installment.
‘College Romance Season 2’ is quite well-written and brings out arresting performances from the cast. Manjot Singh as Trippy, who is recovering from his breakup is simply outstanding. His dialogues, expressions and his befuddling love life, especially with the twin sisters are hilarious. Keshav Sadhna’s character Karan is still a virgin but he keeps on continuing to offer love guidance to his friends. Apoorva Arora is quite impressive as Naira. And her witty conversations with her on-screen boyfriend, Bagga, played by Gagan Arora, is a laughter riot. Gagan’s character of a naive person is the most likable one. Shreya Mehta as Deepika, who is constantly seen yelling “f**k you all” is toned down in the later episodes which is a pleasant change to watch.
