The tale that Venkat Prabhu tells us is only too familiar; in fact, we have seen an iteration of it in Tamil cinema as well, most notably in Kanchana 2. After her show involving recreating of supernatural tales gets cancelled following a risqué episode, Jennifer (Kajal Aggarwal), an ambitious TV show director, accepts her team’s new idea — to visit haunted places and do a live telecast, and in the process, capturing a ghost on camera. They choose a haunted house on a hillside in which a mother (Priyanka) lives with her two children.Live Telecast Season 1 Download.

The crew start filming, even hiring a couple of actors to fake ghosts if their original plan flops. But the ghost which lives in the house traps them inside the place cutting off all communication and prevents them from leaving.

While Live Telecast isn’t bad per se, given the talents involved, it is a disappointment. While a series offers scope to detail characters, here, they are all just one-note and strictly functional. The plot-centric writing wouldn’t have been a major issue in a two-hour film, but here, the plotting hits expected notes in expected ways. In his defence, Venkat Prabhu has revealed that he had written this story much before his debut Chennai 600028, but this very fact should have made the makers wary as by now, we have seen so many horror-coms of this ilk as feature films. Yes, the director does acknowledge Hollywood and Korean horror influences in the dialogues but being self-aware cannot take away the predictability of the script.

After a point, scenes of characters possessed by the ghost or fumbling and trying to find their way in the dark start becoming repetitive. The actors, too, unable to rise above the material.
