A big city veterinarian finds himself suddenly treating the animals and navigating the eccentricities of the locals in Once Upon a Small Town (Netflix), a good hearted romantic comedy adapted from a Korean web novel. Shows about dragons, shows about murders, shows about people doing bad things to each other: there are so many shows with a lot going on. Conversely, and perhaps as a relief from all of that, Once Upon a Small Town features nothing more than gentle romance, idiosyncratic down home charm, and cute overload levels of animal activity.Once Upon a Small Town Season 1 Download.
The Gist: Before he can set an appointment for the aging pug’s respiratory exam, Ji-yul receives an urgent call. It’s his grandparents, in the town of Huidong out in the countryside. Can he come quick? Ji-yul drops everything and goes, but when he arrives, their home is empty. Not only that, he’s promptly detained by Officer Ahn Ja-young (Park Soo-young), who mistakes him for a local burglar. But when Ahn takes him to his grandfather’s veterinary clinic, Ji-yul gets an even bigger shock: he’s to look after the hospital and his grandparents’ home until they return from an around the world cruise. Welcome to Huidong, Han Ji-yul. Now go see about this goat that’s in heat.
It’s only been minutes since he arrived. But Ji-yul has learned two things: this town has a lot of animals in need of treatment, and Officer Ahn has the key to the city. She’s his escort as he treats that goat and frees a dog from a trap on the land of eccentric Mr. Choi (Baek Ji-won). It doesn’t matter if the pooch was after his chickens, Ji-yul tells him. Setting a trap for a dog is illegal. Ji-yul also meets busybody vet clinic nurse Young-Sook (Park Ye-ni) and manages to stumble into some mud, which only increases his awkwardness around the winsome Officer Ahn.
