The Cuphead Show! is an animated streaming television series developed by Dave Wasson for Netflix.[1] The series is based on the 2017 video game Cuphead, which was created by brothers Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, and developed and published by their own independent studio Studio MDHR. The brothers will also serve as executive producers, along with CJ Kettler from King Features Syndicate.The series was released worldwide on February 18, 2022.[2] It received positive reviews from critics and fans, with the animation, voice acting and music being praised but the story being criticized for being too fragmented and often repetitive.The Cuphead Show! In July 2019, it was announced that Netflix had green-lit the series. Chad and Jared Moldenhauer from Studio MDHR are executive producers, along with C.J. Prior to the first season’s release, it was announced on January 25, 2022 that the series had previously been renewed by Netflix for a second and third seasons upon a 48-episode order issued, which includes the first season.[10] It was later announced that a second and third season will be airing.It’s hard to tell if the glass is half-full or half-empty when it comes to The Cuphead Show!.On the one hand, Netflix’s new animated series shamelessly wastes its video game inspiration — shoehorning iconic characters Cuphead and Mugman into a bland universe that could’ve been occupied by anyone or anything.On the other hand, the predictable program is so unimpeachably “fine” that seriously objecting to it feels like an equally silly misuse of energy. So what if some kid doesn’t get why this cartoon is sort of a bummer? Let them live.
